Expectation in our Relationships

4 Aug

As part of an ongoing series of expectation (might have something to do with my upcoming book!), I’m excited to post time and again on this subject. I hope you’ll wait in anticipation of the next installment!

When we get married, we state mutual expectations in our formal vows to each other. When we enter a deep friendship, we often have lengthy discussion of how we will each support and nourish that relationship….we state those thing upon which the other party may rely (hence…expectation).

When our children are entering high school we establish our expectation of them but not necessarily theirs of ours. Expectation can be mutual, individual, and even one way….but they are always in play in any serious relationship.
