Love Means Work. Part 5.

30 Nov

This week, I’m posting the final two sections of a series I’ve written about Love. To read the previous entries, check out: Part 1: Love Evolution , Part 2: Where is Love Now , Part 3: Is Love Really All you Need and Part 4: Love, What’s in a Word?
I think that if we want love to make an impact, we have to carefully select one (or two at the most) of its many parts and express it with focus and purpose.

This empowers love.

Love is a general feeling most of us want in our lives, but to have it be valuable we must be willing to be specific with our feelings and present them with our full attention. Therefore we can’t just proclaim love for some one or some thing and expect that to do the work.

Love is just a generic term for the real work we must do in order to build and maintain a connection to some one or some thing next to us. We have to act out our love…we have to articulate it.

This behavior comes from the million years or more of the development of consciousness and the deep sense of self that began to grow somewhere inside of homo sapien and separate from all other species.
